Wale Olokode, Osun state commissioner of police, says Roheem, the son of Ramon Adedoyin, the hotel owner arrested in the murder case involving an Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) student, is on the run.
Timothy Adegoke, the late OAU postgraduate student, was said to have traveled from Abuja to write an exam at a distance learning centre in Moro, Osun on November 5.
He was, however, declared missing two days later — only to be found dead.
The police had arrested Adedoyin and six suspects said to be staff members of Hilton Hotels and Resort, Ile-Ife where the deceased lodged.
Olokode, while speaking of the case on Monday, said one of the suspects confessed that the son of the hotel’s owner arranged how the corpse was disposed of in the bush without informing the police.
The CP, who featured on a Rave FM, Osun state radio programme named ‘Frank Talk’, said Roheem is still on the run.
“One of the suspects confessed that the MD is the son of Dr Ramon Adedoyin, his name is Roheem Adedoyin who is now at large,” he said.
“He also confessed that he (Roheem) organised the corpse to be thrown into a bush. The MD along with two managers took the corpse to the bush.
“None of the staff members informed the police. It was the report of the missing person that made the anti-kidnapping team who then discovered through their meticulous investigation and traced the so-called missing person to that hotel and then traced the corpse, where it was found.”
Earlier, the family of the deceased insisted on being present while an autopsy was being carried out at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital (UTH), Osogbo.
