Yul Edochie, the controversial Nollywood actor, says it is a sign of weakness for men to beat women.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, the actor warned men against domestic violence. He also urged men to learn how to handle provocations from women.
Edochie said “real men” are known for their matured ways of handling situations.
“See, guy man (real men) don’t hit women. No matter what she might have done to hurt you if you’re in a relationship or it’s your wife…no matter what has been done to you, just hold yourself. See, there’s problem in every relationship, forget what you see on social media,” he said.
“If people tell you what happens behind the scenes at home and in marriages… but no matter what, you don’t hit a woman. Because there are some guys that hit women at the slightest provocation.
“Those are not real men, it’s not good. It’s not a show of strength, believe me, it’s a show of weakness.”
Edochie has always been in the news since he announced the arrival of a child with Judy Austin, the actress, in April.
His action had generated mixed reactions across social media platforms, with the conversation on polygamy taking centre stage.
The actor recently claimed his family has been receiving death threats.
