Olamide Adedeji has drawn a heavy backlash from Nigerians on Twitter for including Yomi SARS in the line-up of artistes to perform at OLIC 4.
OLIC, which is short for Olamide Live in Concert, is currently underway at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The bone of contention, Yomi SARS, is a member of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) and also an artiste.
SARS operatives have come under immense criticism of late, owing to widespread allegations of rampant brutality, abuse and extortion.
Nigerians have accused Olamide of being insensitive by including Yomi SARS among the performers in his yearly concert.
Also known as Lagos Gucci Mane, Yomi SARS has released a number songs, with the most popular being ‘Japa’. The track was produced by Olamide’s longtime collaborator Young John.
Here are some reactions from Twitter.
So Olamide is giving Yomi SARS a platform to perform at OLIC 4.
It’s one thing to be ignorant & not understand consequences of your actions. It’s another thing to be aware of it but completely detached from the reality that’s going on around you.
Zero emotional intelligence.

Those present at OLIC the best thing to do now, is to start Booing Yomi SARS when he gets on stage to perform.. Give him embarrassment of life.

Sorry bro, i wont be coming with you to attend #OLIC4 because "Yomi SARS" is gonna be performing, i think its disrespectful after what has happened to me and is currently happening to a lot of innocent young people at the hands of SARS #EndSARS #EndSarsBrutality #ENDSARSNOW

Inviting Yomi SARS to perform at #OLIC at a time when Nigerian youths are demanding SARS be scrapped is like swimming against the tide.
Do better, @olamide_YBNL .
Be on the right side of history!

Yomi SARS is there as an artiste, not as a SARS personnel. Have you heard reports of him personally harassing anyone? If yes, come up with proofs. Y'all have to be logical and rational in your thots and talks. They're actually friends, so?

We need to shun #OLIC4… Olamide broke street codes by inviting Yomi SARS to perform at OLIC

What if he had brought yomi Sars so he can get booed off the stage, letting people show their discontent with SARS

I thought i was the only one surprised at his decision. But this is a way for us to get back at Yomi SARS
Na to stone am pure water when he's performing. Somebody that's extorting and inflicting pain cannot be celebrated

Don't go to Olamide's show and start stoning people oh. Else Yomi Sars will show how he earns money at Sars. You'll be locked up and tortured. Boycott Olamide's watery spectacle of a show. #EndSars too
— sin (@sadfuc) December 17, 2017

I will not support any show that has an oppressor such as YOMI SARS perform! @olamide_ybnl just insulted our struggle #EndSars by adding such rogue to #olic4 list of artiste !
