Organisers of The Headies were put on the spot after Odumodublvck disclosed he has yet to receive the car prize he won as the 2024 Next Rated.
On April 27, 2025, the ‘Declan Rice’ hitmaker was declared the winner of the Next Rated category award.
He clinched the award after edging out other nominees, including Qing Madi, Shallipopi, Ayo Maff, and Nasboi.
But in a post via X on Saturday, the rapper called out the award organisers, saying he had almost forgotten about the car prize.
In the post, written in Pidgin English, he proceeded to ask the award organisers for his car win.
Responding to Odumodublvck’s call out, The Headies assured him that the car prize “is coming and will arrive in one piece”, adding that he has not been forgotten.
“Odumodu! Relax. The car is coming and it will arrive in one piece. We haven’t forgotten our Next Rated winner,” the post reads.
The organisers further highlighted that they have given out 20 cars in 17 years, including a Bentley Bentayga to BNXN and a house to Odumodublvck.
They also appreciated their nominees and winners, adding that a double car presentation is underway.
“We are proud to have given out 20 cars in 17 years – including a Bentley Bentayga to the winner of the Next Rated award BNXN at the 15th Headies – and a house to OdumoduBlvck, our Rookie of the Year at the 16th Headies,” the post added.
“We appreciate all our nominees and winners and continue to do everything to make sure everyone is proud of our biggest and most enduring homegrown awards. Double car presentation is loading!”
In November 2019, Mr Eazi also called out the Headies, alleging that he never received his 2016 ‘Next Rated’ award gift.
