Nura Mustapha Waye, the Nigerian film director famous in Kannywood, has passed on.
Waye, the director of ‘Izzar So’ a popular Kannywood YouTube series, was said to have gone to bed hale and hearty on Saturday night.
His death was announced by Ali Nuhu, the actor, best known for his roles in Hausa and English films.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Nuhu prayed for the soul of the deceased, adding that may God forgive his sins.
“O Allah, forgive Nura and elevate his ranks in our guides, and replace him in his afters in our youth, and forgive us and God, Lord of the worlds, and enlighten his grave and enlighten him,” he wrote.
Tributes have also started flowing in from colleagues and fans of the deceased on social media.
Lawan Ahmed, another actor, confirmed the death of Waye on his Facebook page.
“Innalillahi wainnailaihirrajiun May Allah accept the life of Nura Mustapha who is director Izzar,” he wrote.
“May Allah forgive his shortcomings amen, may Allah make us die with faith when our time comes amen.”
Muqtar Bala Muqtar, a Facebook user, said Waye’s death has caused him great sadness. He also prayed that God will give the family the fortitude to bear their loss.
“I was sad when i came across the news of your demise Nura Mustapha Waye,” he wrote on his page.
“Izzar so director. May Allah have mercy upon your soul and make paradise to be your final home. May Allah grant fortitude to your family, frds, izzar so team as well as kannywood fraternity to bear this great losses.”
Waye is survived by his wife and children.
