Motunrayo Adeoye, a Nollywood actress, has passed away after a prolonged battle with chronic ulcer.
The actress died on Friday at her residence in Akobo Ojurin, Ibadan and has been buried according to Islamic rites.
Stomach ulcers, also known as gastric ulcers, are sores in the stomach lining. It occurs when the thick layer of mucus protecting the stomach is reduced.
This allows the digestive acids to eat away the stomach lining.
She was a niece of Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo.
Adeoye graduated from Osogbo Technical College, Osun state, where she studied Electronics before going to Switzerland for a seven-month course on sound engineering.
She joined Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Ibadan, in the 70s as a studio and audio engineer and worked there for 40 years.
Upon retirement in 2010, she joined the acting profession and her role in Igbekun, a movie produced by Kunle Afod, brought her into limelight.
Aishat Abimbola, popularly known as Omoge Campus, recently died in Canada after battling breast cancer.
