Daniel Kanayo Daniel, Nollywood actor, says compared to the onset of his acting career when he was tagged a lover boy, producers now cast him in a variety of roles.
In a chat with TheCable Lifestyle, the ’76 actor said he has even played ‘bad guy’ roles which he never thought he was capable of portraying.
“Daniel does everything, they almost tagged me as a lover boy early on in my career but now I’m doing everything from bad guy to boss man. I didn’t even expect that I could play the bad guy role,” he said.
“I’m doing everything and that is what is exciting about acting, doing one thing isn’t fun. That’s what exciting about being an actor.”
Daniel said his full acting schedule rarely affords him the luxury of doing much else.
“Acting doesn’t give me time for anything else, I used to do a lot of things before now. I delivered seminars, train people and travel a lot,” he said.
“At the stage I am right now, I can’t do much of anything because the jobs are overwhelming. I thank God for that, I’m not complaining.”
The Nnamdi Azikwe University graduate of biochemistry, who began his acting career in 2009, won the best actor award at the 2016 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
