A yet-to-be-known Nigerian lady has attracted criticism on social media over her semi-nude outfit at a bank.
Modesty is generally valued in Nigerian culture. Both genders are always admonished to dress modestly, especially in official and more conservative environments.
But in a now-viral video, the lady could be seen in a white top and bum shorts, exposing the lower part of her body.
A man filming the lady inside the banking hall is also heard lamenting over her choice of outfit.
“Make una see wetin person wear come bank oh. Make una see oh. See wetin person wear come bank,” he is heard speaking in pidgin English.
“Wahala dey oh, almost naked oh, Nigeria don scatter. See wetin person wear come bank.”
Some Nigerians also took to X to register their displeasure with the lady’s choice of outfit, while others wondered why the bank’s security allowed her into the building.
“I understand that the heat is too much but did it burn your shorts and skirts?” one user asked.
Another user wrote: “Why should a lady dress like this to the bank? No self respect, No shame”.
“Security can tell her she can’t go in the bank like this… There are securities who would definitely tell her that,” a user added.
