The award-winning singer took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to break news of the union to her nearly 107 million followers.

She shared a clip showing hats which read “bride” and “groom” and mugs that said “Mr.” and “Mrs.”

“Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10•21•19,” the caption read, in what appeared to be her new legal name and the date she made it official with boyfriend Kenneth Petty.

Quite a number of celebrity friends, including Christina Aguilera, Christian Cowan and La La Anthony have offered their congratulatory messages in the comments.

It seemed the newly married couple had deliberately kept the wedding ceremony out of public eye as it was largely unreported in several media platforms until her post on Tuesday.

In June, she had also revealed plans to marry Petty, saying they had obtained a marriage license.
