US rappers Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have once again clashed in a heated war of words on social media, reigniting their long-running feud.
The latest exchange began on Monday when Minaj, 42, appeared to mock the promotional price of Cardi’s latest album ‘Am I the Drama?’ by tweeting “$4.99”.
In the now deleted tweets, she followed up with a string of jabs, including calling the 32-year-old rapper “Barney Dangerous” and sharing an AI-generated image of Cardi depicted as the purple dinosaur.
Minaj also taunted her rival’s album sales and pregnancy, tweaking the lyrics from Cardi’s ‘Magnet’ into a scathing freestyle.
“Abcdefgeeeeeeee. SUR GER REE TO LOOK LIKE MEEEEEE / tell the rat & tell J ZEEEEEE / Rico Fraud & PERJURY,” Minaj wrote on X.
“Abcdefgeeeeeeee / Fallin off the charts wit a big bellyyyy. RUNNING TRAINS / Barefoot, still smellyyyyy / Still. You. Could. Not. outsell. meeeeee.”
Responding in a series of tweets on Tuesday, Cardi brushed off the attack, saying she was “baking ribs and making blondie brownies” when Minaj “started bothering [her] on a Monday”.
The New York-born rapper hit back with insults of her own, describing Minaj as a “cocaine barbie” and “annoying bored b**ch” who “must have missed me”.
She also referenced Minaj’s husband and her brother Jelani Maraj, who was convicted in 2017 of child rape.
Cardi dismissed the criticism of her album’s commercial performance, arguing that Minaj should be measuring herself against peers such as Drake, Taylor Swift and Rihanna.
“Why you keep bringing up my album? It’s not the gag that you think it is. You been in the game like 16 years, you need to compare yourself to YOUR peers that started around YOUR time,” Cardi wrote.
“Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake…those are the numbers you need to be competing wit and you can’t cuz you doing lower than all of them.
“I was in high school when you came out wtf is you comparing yourself to me for?”
Addressing Minaj’s comments regarding her pregnancy, Cardi claimed the mother-of-one had struggled with fertility issues.
“Alright now this the third tweet talkin about my pregnancy… like you wasn’t going to different fertility doctors cuz you couldn’t reproduce from all them percs scrambling your eggs,” Cardi said.
