In a recent interview on Beat FM, the ‘Ten Over Ten’ hitmaker revealed that his hiatus was a conscious choice, fundamentally shaped by his family.

The ‘Kini Big Deal’ singer detailed how his perspective changed after he and his wife Nicole welcomed their first child in 2013, just a year after their marriage in 2012.

“For different reasons you know, I think I wanted something different when I thought about my future and the kind of life I wanted,” he said.

“I got married in 2012 and I had my first child in 2013, so looking at it back then, I do not really think I would get the kind of life I wanted if I continued to focus on music.”

Born Naetochukwu Chikwe, the artist first rose to national prominence in 2008 with the massive hit ‘Kini Big Deal’.

His early career was marked by critical acclaim, earning him awards such as ‘Best New Act’ at the 2008 MTV Africa Music Awards, ‘Best Hip Hop Single’ at the 2009 Headies, and the ‘Best Male Video’ at the 2009 Soundcity Awards.
