Burna Boy, an Afrofusion artiste, says he has been unable to participate in the #EndSARS protests because of pressing family issues.
The artiste, born Damini Ogulu, disclosed his mother’s health condition while responding to a Twitter user who asked him to join #EndSARS protest billed for Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
He said his mother had serious surgery last week at about the same time when the campaign against the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) started to gain momentum.
“I was dealing with a personal family issue at the beginning of these protests. My mum had serious surgery last week! ” he wrote on Twitter.

Burna Boy reiterated his commitment to the ongoing campaign against police brutality, adding that The Reach, his foundation, is still on course to help protesters.
He urged people to always consider the other side before reaching a conclusion.
In life before you reach conclusions it’s always good to check as you don’t know what people are going through . Play whatever song you like at these Protests but Let’s just keep fighting Together. Follow @protectng2020 we are here to help#sarsmustend #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria
