John Mr. Ibu Okafor, the ace actor who is currently battling with an undisclosed illness, has undergone two successful surgeries.
Jazmine Okafor, the actor’s adopted daughter, shared an update on Ibu’s health via Instagram on Tuesday morning.
In the post, she added that despite the surgeries, the film star still attempted to crack jokes like nothing happened.
Jasmine also disclosed that she was excited the actor looked better than he was three weeks ago.
“Never seen anyone so strong… even after two major surgeries, you were still trying to be funny like nothing happened, even in your lowest you still cracked jokes!” she wrote.
“I promise you, if there’s a God in heaven, you are getting out of this bed, stronger and alive. This is the strongest I have seen you in 3 weeks and I’m so excited! Fight this and get well soon, sweet papa.”
Last Wednesday, the ace actor pleaded for financial assistance, adding that he does not want to lose his leg.
Ibu’s plight prompted calls on social media for the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to assist one of its own. It also attracted disagreements between the guild and Stella Maris, the actor’s wife.
Several people have announced their donations to the ailing actor.
The Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Foundation, last Friday, revealed it “paid the entire medical expenses of Ibu on Wednesday”.
