Mr Eazi, Nigerian singer-songwriter, has been going full throttle in 2018 with back to back power moves.
Despite just entering the second half of the year, the Banku singer appears on a roll and has already accomplished a lot.
From international deals to major collaborations, here are seven power moves the ‘Pour Me Water’ singer has made in 2018.
Licensing deal with Universal Music Africa
Mr Eazi, on behalf of his record label Banku Music, signed a label licensing deal with Universal Music Group Africa.
The licensing deal gives UMGA the right to promote and sell songs by Mr Eazi across Africa.
Licensing deal with Columbia Records UK
In May, Mr Eazi signed a similar deal with Columbia Records UK.
The licensing deal gives Columbia the right to promote and sell his songs across the UK.
Detty TV
One week ago, the singer met with YouTube executives in London. A day later he launched Detty TV.
The YouTube channel was created to promote African entertainment and empower emerging acts.
Giggs collaboration
Mr Eazi teamed up UK rapper Giggs for his song ‘London Town’.
The success of the single on the charts opened up a wider appeal for the singer in the UK.
Performing at Wireless Festival
Off the success of ‘London Town’, Mr Eazi alongside Giggs performed at the Wireless Festival to a crowd of over 50,000 people.
Major Lazer, Anne-Marie collaboration
Another international collaboration.
Major Lazer, an American electronic dance music trio composed of record producer Diplo, and DJs Jillionaire and Walshy Fire, enlisted Mr Eazi and Anne-Marie on ‘Rudimental’.
Signing to Diplo’s Mad Decent label
Earlier this year, the ‘Skin Tight’ singer was signed to Mad Decent, a record label owned by Diplo, an American producer and DJ.
According to Diplo, the deal was sealed during his last world tour where he visited and performed in several African countries.
It’s only July, and the Banku music progenitor appears unstoppable.
