The ‘Pour Me Water’ singer is listed on the label’s website as one of the artistes on its roster.

According to Diplo, the deal was sealed during his last world tour where he visited and performed in several African countries.

The producer explained in an interview with The Guardian that he signed Mr Eazi with “[hopes] someone in America will hear him and then make different music”.

He said: “When I go out [to] somewhere like Africa, it’s not a business to me.

“I think to myself: ‘This place is changing rapidly. How can we help build it?

“When it comes to making music, understand that my intentions are always great. I’m there for the music only.

“I have a lot of privilege by being a middle-class white American. So if I had to trade that by being considered exploitative, and people always saying negative things about me…it’s a small price to pay.”

In 2017, Mr Eazi announced that he had recorded 12 songs with Diplo.
