Bonang Matheba, the Miss South Africa 2024 host, rocked outfits made by five Nigerian designers at the competition’s finale on Saturday.
The South African style icon who has been the pageant host for the past four years graced the stage looking fabulous with every outfit making a statement.
Matheba shared Instagram posts acknowledging the creatives who contributed to the assemblage of her dress, and they are all Nigerians.
The 37-year-old radio personality’s apparel was put together by Veekee James, Somo by Somo, Sheye Oladejo, Mazelle Bridal, and Emagine by Bukola.
South Africa’s The Don Hair and Neeta Beauty, the Lagos-based beauty artist, handled her hair and makeup respectively.
Matheba was styled by Nigeria’s Dahmola, while her photo shoot was captured by The Lagos Paparazzi.

It remains to be seen if the outfits were her way of showing solidarity with Chidinma Adetshina, the 23-year-old model of Nigerian descent, who pulled out of the Miss South Africa over controversies that trailed her eligibility to participate in the country’s beauty pageant.
Mia Le Roux, the Free State-born model, was crowned Miss South Africa during a glittering ceremony at the Sun Bet Arena at Times Square in Menlyn, Pretoria on Saturday.
