Nigerian rapper MI Abaga has officially released his latest album entitled, ‘Rendezvous’ contrary to its earlier slated release.
Abaga made the announcement of his fourth studio album on Instagram citing that it would be out in May.
However, the rapper surprised his eager fans with the release of his long-awaited piece, considering he had announced his retirement. This would be the rapper’s seventh project.
Just as the name implies, the album cover art has nothing but a location pin, one he calls “the meet up spot”.
This is possibly because of the album’s abundance of featured artistes.
The playlist by MI Abaga featured a host of artistes on the new project including South Africa’s top rappers Cassper Nyovest and AKA.
The rapper also featured a couple of Nigerian artistes such as Wande Coal, Terry Apala, Moelogo, Dice Ailes, CKay, Yung L, Nonso Amadi, Odunsi (The Engine), Tomi Thomas and more.
The album tracklist, which he shared via his Instagram page, describes the typical life of a Lagos guy. It tells a [true] story about a day in the life of young man’s hustle and bustle between the hours of 6:30pm and 6:32am.
The album mixing and mastering work was majorly done by G Plus & GMK.
MI’s third album, ‘The Chairman’, was released in 2014. Afterwards, he released a compilation album with Chocolate City.
In 2016, he put out a mixtape called ‘Illegal Music 3: The Finale’.
Reactions to MI Abaga’s ‘Redenzvous’
Since its release, social media has gone agog as to what the album entails. So far, there are only praises for the album.

The track with Wande Coal was recorded in 2014; On code with AKA was recorded 2 years ago.

Odunsi, why so so good, giving out wine so we can be Popping in Lekki. The differential voice and flows of @ajebutter22 and @falzthebahdguy is sweeting me. Lol! Yung l I don't know why you still underrated, so superb. @MI_Abaga #Rendezvous

If there’s one thing to note, however, it is that the album has no female artiste featured on it.
