With four million followers, Mercy Chinwo is the most-followed Nigerian gospel singer on the social media app Instagram.
The ‘You Do This One’ hitmaker was closely followed by Nathaniel Bassey who has 3.6 million followers while Moses Bliss occupied the third position with 2.3 million followers.
Sinach with 1.7 million followers and Dunsin Oyekan with 1.5 million followers completed the top five spots.
Chinwo, who is married to Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, recently took to her Instagram page to appreciate her fans for their support over the years.

1. Mercy Chinwo – 4 million followers
Chinwo began her career after winning the second season of Nigerian Idol in 2012.
She has continued to receive massive reception from gospel music lovers since then and has earned a plethora of awards and nominations for her craft.
The 32-year-old has put out several hit singles and 3 studio albums namely; ‘The Cross My Gaze’ (2018), ‘Satisfied’ (2020), and ‘Overwhelming Victory’ (2024)
2. Nathaniel Bassey – 3.6 million followers
The Akwa-Ibom indigene has established himself as one of the leading gospel artistes in Africa.
He is known for combining his unique style of worship and praise alongside playing the trumpet.
Some of his hit singles include ‘Olowogbogboro’, ‘Iba’, ‘Imela’, ‘Ebenezer’, ‘Olorun Agbaye’ and ‘Adonai’.
3. Moses Bliss – 2.3 million followers
Moses Bliss released his first single in January 2017 titled ‘E No Dey Fall My Hand’.
The singer rose to fame with the release of his hit single ‘Too Faithful’ in 2019 — which gained massive traction.
He has also put out other hit tracks such as ‘Bigger Everyday’, ‘Miracle’, and ‘Taking Care’.
4. Tope Alabi – 2.2 million followers
With a career spanning over two decades, Tope Alabi has established herself as one of Nigeria’s most prominent gospel musicians.
She is considered one of the forerunners of the gospel music industry with an avalanche of hit tracks and awards
5. Sinach – 1.7 million followers
Sinach has established herself as a prominent name in the global music landscape as a singer and a minister.
She is the first singer-songwriter to top the Billboard Christian Songwriter chart for 12 consecutive weeks.
Her song ‘Way Maker’ received three nominations and won the Song of the Year at the 51st GMA Dove Awards, making her the first Nigerian to achieve the feat.
6. Dunsin Oyekan – 1.5 million followers
Dunsin started singing and playing the guitar at 10 and went into full worship ministry in 2014 after he graduated from university.
The 39-year-old singer is known for his prolific worship sessions and has since released many hit singles such as ‘Worthy of My Praise’, ‘Undignified’, ‘Ogo’, ‘Emperor of the Universe’ and ‘The City of God’.
7. T.Y. Bello – 1.3 million followers
Born Toyin Sokefun-Bello, TY Bello began her career in 2008 when she released her debut album ‘Greenland’.
Before pursuing a solo career, she was a member of the now-defunct gospel band Kush.
She is best known for her singles ‘Greenland’, ‘Ekundayo’, ‘This Man’, ‘Freedom’ and ‘Funmise’.
The singer has continued to enjoy a successful career over the years.
8. Judikay – 1.2 million followers
Judikay ventured into the gospel music industry in 2013 with the release of ‘Nobody Else’.
Before then, she was a backup vocalist for Florocka, the gospel musician popularly known for his song ‘Twale’.
She, however, gained fame with her hit song ‘More Than Gold’ in 2019. She also released ‘Man of Galilee’, her debut studio album the same year.
8. Tim Godfrey – 1.2 million followers
Tim Godfrey is the convener of the annual Fearless Gospel Concert which brings together gospel musicians from all walks of life.
He is well known for his hit single ‘Nara’, featuring Travis Greene, the US gospel singer. The song amassed over 11 million streams across all platforms.
10. Frank Edwards – 1.1 million followers
Edwards is the founder and owner of the record label Rocktown Records. His debut album ‘The Definition’ was released in 2008.
The singer is known for his hit songs such as ‘Mma Mma’, ‘You Too Dey Bless Me’, ‘Wedding Day’, ‘Oghene Do’, ‘Omemma’ and ‘Okaka’.
