The 42-year-old, who participated in the 2012 edition of the music show, had gone off the grid for nine years.

Speaking recently with journalists, Odiete said he temporarily left the music scene to “focus on family and work”.

“As you all know, I came as first runner up [at Project Fame]. It’s been a wonderful journey. I reconnected with my wife, and we got married,” the singer, who is a director at Blue Pictures Cinema in Lagos, added.

“We have four beautiful kids — three girls and one boy. I just decided to stay out of the radar for some time because I was focusing on family, and work which we do.

“I just decided to take time off. There has been a struggle about whether I should come back or not.

“At the same time, my wife kept encouraging me, praying for me that I should come back. At the end of the day, the voice which I have is given to me by God, so I had to make a decision if I wanted to come back or not.”

Speaking on what is to follow for him, Marvelous said he discovered amid his hiatus that he thrives better with gospel music.

The ‘You Are Worthy’ singer also pointed out that he’s open to collaborating with artistes of different genres.

According to the music star, his reggae single ‘I’m Not Alone’ will debut in September ahead of his 2022 body of work.
