Mac Miller, an American rapper and record producer, has died of drug overdose.
According to TMZ, the 26-year-old rapper was found dead in his San Fernando Valley home in California, US.
Miller, real name Malcolm James McCormick, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The rapper has battled with substance abuse issues in recent years.
Miller was in August charged by the Los Angeles Attorney’s Office for driving under the influence during a car accident that took place in May.
His long-term relationship with Ariana Grande ended a few weeks before the accident.
‘Swimming’, Miller’s fifth studio album, was released on August 3 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The rapper was preparing for his US tour which was set to begin on October 27.
In a recent interview with Vulture, Miller spoke about his addiction and anxiety issues.
He said: “I feel like the public perception of me varies on who you ask. But there’s a bit of a freedom in knowing that people are going to think all types of shit, no matter what.
“It actually makes me less stressed about how my actions are perceived. It’s out of my control. I mean, to a degree … I could control it. I could live this squeaky clean life and everything. I could try to control the media.”
