Liz Benson, the ace Nigerian actress, is set to return to the screen in a forthcoming movie titled ‘A Mother’s Son’.

The new film is executive produced by Mercy Johnson and directed by Vincent De Anointed. It will feature actors like Georgina Ibeh, Mike Godson, and Simon Eveshoyan among others.

A star-struck Mercy took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to share a heartwarming video of herself and Ibeh kneeling to greet the film icon as she arrived on set.

“All the big people in Nollywood are here. You guys are doing exploits; God bless you,” Benson said.

“It is nice to see all of you in real life. I am meeting all of you for the first time. But I have come to see my daughter, Mercy Johnson.”

Mercy and Georgina also registered their anxiety to be meeting Benson.

The film’s release date is however yet to be disclosed.

Born on April 5, 1966, Benson started acting at the age of 5. She then featured in Fortunes, a TV soap opera, in 1993.

She rose to fame in 1994 for her role in ‘Glamour Girls’, a successful home video film, which cemented her status as a top actress in Nigeria.

Benson has been featured in a plethora of films including ‘Sins of the Fathers’, ‘Women in Power’, ‘Diamond Ring’, ‘Izaga’, ‘Sympathy’, ‘Day of Atonement’, and ‘World Apart’. She last featured in ‘Still Falling’, a 2021 film.
