Mohbad, the fast-rising singer, has put out what seemed to be a diss song against Marlian Records and Naira Marley, his former record label boss.

The song titled ‘Tiff’ is coming a month after the singer alleged he was assaulted for seeking a change of manager.

Mohbad, who was signed under Marlian Records, earlier shared footage showing the bruises he sustained and subsequently terminated his contract with the record label.

In a short clip shared via his social media, Mohbad sings about his ordeal, alleging efforts were made to deprive him of growth.

He also talks about how his parents were allegedly threatened in the record label dispute that almost had him go broke.

The singer addresses existing drug abuse claims against him by clarifying he had quit smoking “ganja” (marijuana).

In what appears to be a dig at Naira Marley, Mohbad asked, “Why is Naira going down?”

Earlier reacting to the claims Mohbad made against him, Naira Marley described the incident as a “family affair”.

The record label owner further alleged that Mohbad was probably “high” (drunk) when making the allegations.

“If Mohbad didn’t do a video, I wouldn’t even bother explaining because it is not something big,” Marley said.

“Obviously, he is not in his right sense. It is obvious he is not in the right state of mind.

“Why will I touch Mohbad or allow anyone to touch Mohbad? When he’s back in his right sense, he will explain himself and apologize as usual.”

Also on his Twitter handle, Naira Marley wrote: “Mohbad has a history of getting intoxicated which affects his emotions and actions. However, all issues would be resolved amicably within the record label.”

Diss songs and all their exposé are a common trend among warring parties in the hip-hop scene generally.

Mohbad’s latest move, if anything, might be suggesting that his discord with his ex-label is far from resolved.
