Beyonce Knowles-Carter, an American singer and business mogul, has come through with ‘Black Parade’, her latest song.

The award-winning singer released the surprise project on Friday to commemorate this year’s edition of Juneteenth — the holiday observing the June 19, 1865 date which marked the end of slavery in the United States.

The less than five-minute project sees Beyonce reflecting on a range of contemporary issues in the world, including the coronavirus pandemic and the Black Lives Movement inspired by George Floyd’s death.

“Put your fists up in the air, show black love. Need peace and reparation for my people,” the music superstar can be heard singing.

The song is the singer’s first solo music since ‘The Lion King: The Gift’, her 2019 hit album.

It comes about the same time when she launched ‘Black Parade Route’ — an initiative which supports black-owned businesses.

In a post announcing the initiative on her social media page, the 38-year-old expressed her support for black movements across the world.

“Happy Juneteenth Weekend! I hope we continue to share joy and celebrate each other, even in the midst of struggle. Please continue to remember our beauty, strength and power,” she wrote on Instagram.
