Joe Budden, American rapper, has called out American artistes who give Wizkid’s music rave reviews but don’t support the Nigerian singer’s art by purchasing his album.
The latest edition of Complex News’ ‘Everyday Struggle’, had Maino, Joe Budden, DJ Akademiks, and Nadeska talk about the success of international music globally, during one of the show’s sessions.
Budden buttressed on how American artistes love to copy Wizkid‘s “sound” and “style” but still do not buy his album.
He said: “I don’t know if anybody heard Wizkid’s album. It doesnt sound like Nigerian music. Y’all n****s should go buy Wizkid’s album if you want to appropriate his music and style. It’s a great album.”
He continued further saying, “Wizkid’s album came out and we’ve never talked about it and it’s amazing and I don’t think that’s really fair that all you n****s can steal Wizkid’s Caribbean style and flow and songwriting and not even buy the album.”
