The award was presented at the governor’s dinner and tourism awards night: the closing event of the three-day summit which ran from July 22 to 24 at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

The summit, tagged #ITSOyoState2025, convened key stakeholders across tourism, hospitality, government and the creative economy to spotlight investment opportunities in Oyo while preserving culture and creating jobs.

Afolayan, who is the founder of KAP Film Village & Resort in Igbojaye, Oyo, has long championed a model of storytelling that blends heritage, creativity and tourism.
