Kevin Spacey, the Oscar-winning US actor, is set to be arraigned in New York over another allegation of sexual assault against him.
The film star will be arraigned on Thursday in a civil lawsuit filed against him by Anthony Rapp, another US actor.
Rapp had in his suit alleged that the 63-year-old inappropriately touched him at a party in 1986 when he was aged 14.
In the suit filed in September 2020, Rapp accused him of battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
But Spacey had denied the allegation.
The pair are scheduled to appear at the Manhattan federal courthouse later in the day when the trial opens with jury selection.
Rapp, now 51, had claimed Spacey was about 26/27 years when he met him at a party held at his Manhattan apartment.
In a 2017 article, the plaintiff claimed: “a visibly intoxicated Spacey had picked him up, placed him on a bed, climbed on top of him, and made a sexual advance in a Manhattan apartment.”
He, however, said “there was no kissing, no undressing, no reaching under clothes, and no sexualised statements or innuendo” during the encounter which lasted for more than two minutes.
The plaintiff is also demanding the sum of $40 million as punitive and compensatory damages.
In October 2017, Spacey said he was “horrified” to hear Rapp’s story, adding that he did not remember the said encounter.
The actor also said he was sorry “for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour” — if Rapp’s account claim was true.

Spacey is facing separate five charges of sexual assault in the United Kingdom (UK).
In June, he was arraigned on charges bordering on sexual assault against three men.
