Kevin Hart, an American comedian and Hollywood actor, has been hospitalized after suffering major back injuries in a car crash.
The accident happened in the early hours of Sunday while the 40-year-0ld film star was aboard his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, an electric vehicle he had purchased to celebrate his 40th birthday.
TMZ reports that the vehicle veered off the Mulholland Highway in Malibu Hills, crashed through a wooden fence, and plunged down a gully at around 1:00am after Jared Black, Hart’s friend lost control of the vehicle.
Cops present at the scene of the accident said Hart left to get medical attention after the accident while the impact of the collision crushed the roof of the vehicle and trapped Rebecca Broxterman, a personal trainer to Hart and his wife, alongside the driver until help came their way.
According to them, the driver was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash but had similarly sustained back injuries while Hart’s personal trainer, a 31-year-old woman, escape the crash unhurt.
“Black was turning when he immediately lost control of the vehicle, and the Plymouth left the road and rolled over down the northern embankment. Two of the three occupants were trapped in the vehicle. The remaining occupant and owner of the vehicle left the scene to get medical attention,” they were quoted to have said.
Hours before the crash, Hart had made an Instagram video of himself sitting in the car as someone scolded him in the background for burning too much rubber in it.
