The fast-rising singer was among the artistes who performed at a recent homecoming concert held by the governor to celebrate Burna Boy’s Grammy win.

On Wednesday, Wike had made good his promise to gift all artistes that graced the event the sum of N10 million each — despite the criticism from Nigerians.

Shortly after receiving the money, the musician took to her Instagram page to share a video of herself shedding tears of joy.

In a series of touching posts, KessyDriz narrated how she had struggled to succeed as a singer over the years, adding that the governor’s gesture has heralded a new dawn for her.

She commended Wike for the gesture as well as the ‘African Giant’ crooner for his feat in the global music landscape.

“Talk and do governor. All my years of tears, struggles, and depressions are over. 10,000,000 richer. What God cannot do does not exist. Big shout out to @burnaboygram, your win is indeed a win for all of us. Tears of joy. God has remembered me,” she wrote.

The singer said she had recently ditched her music career in search of other opportunities due to “hunger”.

“I left music to find a job so that hunger will not kill me. I haven’t even worked for one month when God said, ‘my daughter this is not my plan for you; I gave you this talent for a reason.’ Now see me today…” she added in a mixture of English and Pidgin.
