The Kano state police have arrested seven students of the Government Technical College, Ungogo over the alleged killing of their colleague on Saturday.
Magaji Majiya, public relations officer of the command in the state, confirmed the arrest of the suspects on Monday.
According to him, the deceased was invited by the suspects at midnight and beaten to death.
The deceased, Mohammed Ali, was a final year student.
“The suspects were said to have invited the deceased around 11.30 p.m. on Saturday and allegedly killed him.
“We are also waiting for result of the autopsy conducted on the deceased by medical authorities at Waziri Gidado Hospital in Dala Local Government Area.”
Majiya also added that four of the suspects had made confessional statements, while investigation was ongoing to find out their involvement in the killing.
The case has been transferred from the Ungogo police headquarters to the state criminal investigation department (CID) for further investigation.
