Kaffy, the Nigerian dancer and choreographer, says she refrained from having sex with Joseph Ameh for three years before their divorce over alleged infidelity.
The entertainer spoke when she featured on the latest episode of #WithChude hosted by Chude Jideonwo, the media personality.
The entertainer and Ameh, the music director, tied the knot in 2012.
In January, Kaffy confirmed the end of the union, which produced two children, months after rumours of their split surfaced.
During the interview, the dancer claimed her ex-husband cheated on her with her best friend.
The mother of two said the incident affected her for while, adding that she started healing when she stopped having sex with her husband.
“Let me tell you when I started healing; when I stopped sleeping with my husband. I was celibate in my marriage for three years before getting a divorce. I now understand that marriage is an alignment of assignment,” she said.
Kaffy said she saw some red flags at the outset of the union but felt she could put up with such.
“There are different kinds of red flags that we women in love are so blinded by. If I had known, I would have not jumped into it,” she added.
“I was thinking in the beginning that I have found someone that would make me happy.
“That’s the most selfish thinking that any human being can have for another human being.”
The dancer also recounted how her parents endured domestic violence in their marriage.
Sher said her parents often use sharp objects like knives and forks whenever they engage in a fight.
