The family of Junior Pope Odonwodo, the late Nollywood actor, has announced his funeral activities.
Pope died on April 10 in the River Niger in Asaba, Delta state on his way to a movie location.
He passed away alongside four other crew members in a boat accident.
Pope’s demise led to the suspension of Adanma Luke, the producer of the upcoming movie in which the late actor was supposed to feature.
On April 19, the Enugu state government promised the actor’s family that he would be given a “befitting burial”.
In an e-flier shared on social media, the family said a wake keep will be held in Pope’s honour on May 16, while the funeral will take place the following day.
The funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Parish Ukehe, Enugu state.
Pope was married to Jennifer Awele. They have three children together.
He began his career in 2006 but gained fame after appearing in the 2007 film ‘Secret Adventures’, directed by Tchidi Chikere.
He also featured in several other movies including ‘Throne of Tears’, ‘Always Mine’, ‘Mad Sex’, ‘Blood Afair’, ‘Gbege and No Way Through’.
He also received several recognitions for his talent.
In 2010, Pope won the ‘Most Promising Actor’ category at the Nigeria Entertainment Factory Awards.
