In an interview with Yanga FM, ahead of his performance on Thursday in Lagos, Jux recounted that their paths first crossed in Rwanda, and he was completely unaware of her fame at the time.

He described being immediately captivated by her beauty, but emphasised that it was her qualities that cemented his decision.

The singer disclosed that his discovery of her public profile came much later.

“I met Priscilla in Rwanda. I didn’t know she was a celebrity. It was love at first sight,” he said.

“When she came to Tanzania, and we went to Zanzibar, and we took a picture, that’s when I realised, after seeing a lot of blogs posting about her. I was wowed.”

Jux also revealed the positive impact his marriage has had on his career. He credited his wife and her mother, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, with significantly boosting his popularity in Nigeria.

“Over 10, I can rate the impact Iyabo Ojo and Priscilla have had on my career a 6 or 7,” he explained. “I was already a star, even in Nigeria; some people knew me before, but now the fame is more because Priscilla and I are together.”

Priscilla and Jux’s love story unfolded in July 2024, when they publicly announced their relationship on social media.

The couple held their traditional and white weddings in Lagos in April, following their Islamic traditional wedding in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in February.

They wrapped up the wedding festivities with a grand ceremony in Tanzania in May and welcomed their first child, a son named Rakeem, in Canada in August.
