Juliet Ibrahim, award-winning Ghanaian actress and model, says she and Kwadwo Safo Jnr, her ex-husband and son of Kojo Safo Kantanka, a renown pastor, first met at a strip club.
The 33-year-old film producer said this while speaking about her failed marriage with Kwadwo during an interview on The Delay Show.
It is believed that kwadwo’s dad had kicked against their union because “she was perceived to be a bad girl”.
In her attempt to indict him of wrongdoings, she said “you know the funny thing? The first time my ex-husband saw me was in a strip club. He knew what he signed up for.”
Ibrahim added that, at the time of the union, she was young and neither considered their backgrounds nor clarified the boundaries before tying the knot.
“I was 24 years old when we decided to be together so we were very young people. And I’m the kind of person who works with what I have. So, if he had put all these into consideration and broke down what he expected from me, I would know how to handle things,” she said.
“But we didn’t have this kind of conversation. The only thing we talked about was when I had kissing scenes in some of my past movies. So, I started controlling my scenes because of my own judgments.
“Everything happens for a reason. Even he and I spoke about it and we believed that we better off stay apart.”
Ibrahim had married Kwadwo in 2010 after she got pregnant for him in the course of their friendship but was granted a divorce in June 2014.
She, thereafter, dated Iceberg Slim, Nigerian rapper, but similarly broke up with him for “concurrently dating another lady while being with her”.
