Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad, says he will accept Liam as his grandson if the paternity test proves accurate.

Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. On September 21, his body was exhumed by police for an autopsy.

Eight months later, the autopsy failed to determine the cause of death as the singer’s body had decomposed when tests were conducted.

Mohbad’s demise has continued to elicit discussions on social media, including questions about his son’s paternity.

Aloba also refused to rebury his son until a DNA test confirmed Liam’s biological father.

In a recent interview with TVC, Aloba suggested that a potential DNA test on Liam could have been a factor in the singer’s death.

Mohbad’s dad said he needed to confirm the boy’s biological connection to him because “a lot of bullying has been going on”.

He said “I will accept it” if the DNA results conclude that Liam is his grandson.

“For now, with all I am seeing, I have to do the DNA before the burial,” he said.

“Even Mohbad’s mum said that I am not Mohbad’s father. That is why I am still standing on that until the DNA is done.

“I want to be sure if his son is mine because a lot of bullying has been going on. If he is my grandson, at the end of the day, I will accept it.

“I just want to be assured of the paternity of that baby first, before the burial.”

Aloba had previously claimed that the singer rejected Liam before he passed.

A recent court order mandated that Wunmi, Mohbad’s wife, be notified of a pending DNA test application by substituted means.
