Joseph Akinwale, the Nigerian singer better known as Joeboy, has made several changes to his social media pages.
The music star recently cleared all the posts on his Instagram page which had 2.9 million followers.
Checks by TheCable Lifestyle on Tuesday showed the singer adopted black profile photos on all his social media pages.
The 26-year-old singer also shared a cryptic message via his X page.
“Eye wey don see 99 no fit fear 100,” he wrote in pidgin English.
Joeboy, however, did not provide context to the tweet that has been viewed over 57,000 times.
Black is known for giving off energies that allude to mystery, power, elegance, and sophistication. If a social media user makes use of a black profile photo, it may be because they want to convey such vibes.
Joeyboy gained popularity under emPawa Africa, a record label owned by Mr Eazi.
The singer has won several awards and recognition for his craft.
In 2019, he won the ‘Best Artiste in African Pop’ prize at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
The singer also bagged the ‘Best Pop’ category at the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival in 2020.
In November 2023, he released a 5-track extended play (EP) titled ‘Body, Soul & Spirit’.
Joeboy once said he knew he would be successful in the music industry after meeting Wizkid, the award-winning music star.
“One thing I really appreciate about Wiz is that he made young people believe that they can be young and be popping. I can be young and be one of the greatest,” he added.
“Before Wiz, if any artiste pops it was probably like at a very later stage in life at that point. But after Wiz, young people were coming through. Young people started going hard. Big shoutout to Wizkid for that.”
