JMK, the newly-added housemate of the 2021 Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), says she forfeited her call to the bar for the reality TV show.

The lawyer was one of the four participants who were ushered into the sixth edition on Sunday during the last eviction session.

Speaking to her colleague on the tough decisions she had to make towards entering for the show, JMK said: “‘I didn’t make it for my call to bar. It was either this [or that]. I mean I can always do it.

“My result came out well so I can always do the call to bar later. It was either I come for this or I miss this opportunity and just do the call to the bar. It was tough for me.

“I was losing my sh*t in between what my folks would think after you spend six years and you did not make your call to bar? and me trying to make a decision for myself because the opportunities that come with this are huge.”

The show started with 11 men on July 24 — ahead of day two when 11 ladies joined, making up 22 housemates.

Yerins, Niyi, and Beatrice, two male participants and one female respectively, were removed at the first eviction.

On the same day, four new housemates identified as Michael, Kayvee, JMK, and Queen were added to the show.

This brought the total number of participants on the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ edition to 23 as of August 8.

The BBNaija 2021 season is the sixth of its kind. It will run for 72 days — from July 24 to October 3, 2021.

A grand prize of N90 million, which is the highest in the show’s history, will be handed out to the ultimate winner.
