Jennifer Lopez, and Ben Affleck, the celebrity couple, are divorcing after two years of marriage.
The Hollywood stars tied the knot in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.
TMZ reports that Lopez filed a petition for divorce without her lawyers in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday.
In the legal documents, the 55-year-old actress listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024, and did not mention any prenuptial agreement.
Lopez was also said to have waived spousal support and she is asking the judge to deny the two-time Oscar winner the same benefits.
The pair — better known as “Bennifer” — first started dating in July 2002 and got engaged in November of that year.
They were due to tie the knot in September 2003 but postponed the wedding just days before the ceremony only to split in January 2004.
Lopez and Affleck, however, rekindled their romance shortly after the actress ended her two-year engagement with Alex Rodriguez in 2021.
The singer thereafter announced her engagement to the ‘Batman’ star in April 2022 — 18 years after they originally called off their wedding.
The pair have made two films together. The first was ‘Gigli’ in 2003 and ‘Jersey Girl’ in 2004.
Lopez has now been married four times. The first time was to Cuban-born waiter Ojani Noa (1997-1998).
She then married her former backup dancer Cris Judd (2001-2003); and Marc Anthony, the singer with whom she had twins (2004-2014).
Affleck, on the other hand, was previously married to the actress Jennifer Garner, who he met on set in 2001. They have three children together and split in 2015 after a decade of marriage.
