Jennifer Lopez, American actress, and Alex Rodriguez, better known as A-Rod, have reportedly broken up about two years after their engagement.
According to PageSix, the pair ended the relationship on Friday amid speculations that Rodriguez was having an affair with Madison LeCroy, a South Carolina movie star.
A-Rod had dismissed the rumoured affair with LeCroy. LeCroy also clarified that they have never met — although she claimed to have “spoken with him” on phone before.
“That’s the truth,” she said, adding that they have “never been physical… never had any kind of anything. Just an acquaintance.”
Lopez and Rodriguez, christened J-Rod, met in 2017 and started dating thereafter with A-Rod engaging the actress in March 2019.
But their wedding plans did not materialise. Before their alleged split, the duo had postponed their wedding twice, a development they attributed to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We postponed the wedding twice. We had planned what we really, really wanted to do, [but] I don’t know if we’ll be able to re-create that,” the singer told Elle in January this year.
“We canceled it, and since then we haven’t really talked about it. There’s no rush. We want to do it right when we can do it.”
The two were last seen together last month in the Dominican Republic, where Lopez is currently shooting an upcoming movie.
The ex-baseball shortstop had shared an Instagram photo on Friday wherein he could be seen alone on a yacht in Miami gazing at his phone.

“Don’t mind me, just taking a sail-fie… What are your plans for the weekend?” he had written in a terse post accompanying the photo.
Lopez had also shared old video clips of herself laughing in previous TV appearances alongside a caption which read “find a good reason to laugh today… Sending everyone love.”

Details surrounding the alleged split remain sketchy as of the time of this report while the pair are yet to officially react to the development.
