It is that special day of the year again when women are celebrated for their impact and value across the world. It is the International Women’s Day (IWD).

The 2023 theme for IWD, as announced by the United Nations, is ‘DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality’.

The theme focuses on educating the female child about the digital and technology world in order to achieve gender equality and empowerment among them.

Currently, she is the information security analyst at Chipper Cash, a financial technology company.

Asides from technology, Runsewe is also the founder of Biamo Maternity Designs — a bra line for new and expecting African mums.

Adora Nwodo is a software engineer, digital creator and author. She is a first-class graduate of computer science from the University of Lagos.

Nwodo started her career as a software developer for an advertising agency before moving to Microsoft.

Currently, she works as a cloud engineer at Microsoft.

She is also the vice president of the Nigerian chapter of VR/AR Association — a global industry for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.

Before Backdrop, she was the global head of product communications at Binance, one of the world’s largest crypto exchange platforms.

She is also the co-founder of  Feminist Coalition.

Feminist Coalition is a group of young Nigerian feminists who work to promote equality for women.

Yanmo Omorogbe, the chemical engineering graduate, is a tech entrepreneur and investment professional.

Omorogbe is the co-founder of Bamboo where she leads the growth and operation of the platform. Bamboo is a digital investment platform that gives Nigerians real-time access to buy, sell or hold assets traded on the US stock exchange from their mobile phones or computers.

Odunayo Eweniyi, a graduate of computer engineering, has worked in the fintech industry for several years.

She is a business executive and also the CEO of PiggyVest. It’s a financial technology platform for online savings and investing.

Eweniyi came up with PiggyVest to empower people to better manage and save their money.

She has been recognized globally for her contribution to the tech space. In 2019, She was named one of Forbes Africa’s 30 under 30 Technology.
