Ini Edo, the award-winning Nigerian actress, has lost her father.
In an Instagram post on Monday, the film star shared a photo of her father while revealing that his demise “is the hardest thing she had to bear”.
She also described her father as her “greatest cheerleader and first love” who will always be remembered.
“This post has been the hardest to make… I have lost my greatest cheerleader… My Beloved Father, My first love,” she wrote.
“The Heavens have gained an Angel. You will forever remain in my heart. Rest on King.”

The actress, however, did not disclose the cause of death and the date of his passing.
Fans and colleagues have offered their condolences in the post’s comments section.
The tragic news comes a few weeks after Bovi, the comedian, lost his father Edward Sagini Ugboma.
He also revealed that Edward died “peacefully” on February 13.
In December 2024, actress Lala Akindoju also announced that she lost her father, who was a “present and loving father” at age 71.
Edo started her acting career in 2000 after being discovered by a producer at an audition she attended.
In 2004, she got widespread recognition after her role in ‘World Apart’ and since then, she has starred in several movies.
She has also solidified herself as a renowned figure in the Nigerian movie industry and has won several awards.
Recently, she became a cast of Netflix’s reality TV series ‘Young, Famous and African’.
In 2021, Edo had her daughter through surrogacy after struggling with miscarriages and failed IVF procedures.
