IK Ogbonna threatens to sue woman for calling him gay

IK Ogbonna, Nollywood actor, has threatened to file a lawsuit against Joyce Boakye, a US-based Instagram user, for defamation of character.

The threat is coming days after Joyce, also known as Bold Pink, took to Instagram to share a video accusing the actor of being a homosexual man who is “hiding in the closet” and running after “Nollywood actors” despite being married.

“You married your beautiful wife, kept her in the house and still going after Nollywood actors to sleep with…males for that matter…,” she said.

Reacting to the accusations leveled against him in the said video, Ogbonna, through his lawyers, is requesting that she apologizes and retracts the slanderous comments within a space of seven days.

According to the legal document shared by the actor on his Instagram handle, failure to comply with the stated conditions would prompt the actor to seek redress in court.

“A free platform created for promotion and marketing has given people voices to speak cheaply about people’s hard earned integrity. Most of those who wants us to come out with ‘who we truly are’ as they claim, have themselves nothing to show to anyone,” Ogbonna wrote in the document’s caption.

“The noises are mostly made and heard from the empty barrels. We give attention to what is of value not what takes our attention from what is of no value.

“And very soon, society must weed out the tares that prevent the wheat from standing out.” If u come with allegations please come out of the closet with prove to your allegation.”

Although fans have severally questioned the Nollywood actor’s marital status as to whether his marriage had truly hit the rocks as rumored, Ogbonna has continuously reiterated that he has not divorced Sonia Lareinaa, his wife.
