Panshak Zamani, the entertainer better known as Ice Prince, says contemporary rappers in Nigeria need to “learn the game from him”.
In a recent chat on Afrobeats Podcast, the rapper said he respects indigenous rappers but “I think the game needs me”.
“I think the game needs me and I have so much to teach. I do not fault indigenous rappers like Olamide, and Phyno. My respect for them is on another level,” he said.
“I am talking about the more contemporary rappers. I think they need to go study Ice Prince. I mean they have a lot to learn from me.”
The rapper said the Choc Boys — which include him, Jesse Jagz, and MI — plans to drop an album.
“Choc Boys is gonna drop an album. I mean MI, Ice Prince, and Jesse, the three duo. I will tell you that we are 70% done with this album,” he said.
“And if this album does not come out, blame MI and Jesse. I have done my part. Everybody has recorded, we just need to put it out.”
The trio adopted their name from the album they collaborated on titled ‘The Indestructible Choc Boi Nation (2015)’.
Ice Prince rose to fame in 2011 after he released ‘Oleku’, a chart-topping song off his debut studio album.
He has continued to drop hit songs and receive a plethora of awards. He has also collaborated with other music heavyweights.
