Tochukwu Ojogwu, the Nigerian rapper better known as Odumodublvck, has opened up on his ordeal while undergoing a mouth surgery.
Speaking on Body & Soul podcast anchored by Joeboy, the rapper revealed that he had the surgery after putting out ‘Declan Rice’, his hit song.
Odumodublvck said he almost died during the surgery but “God kept me here right now”.
“You can hear the way I’m talking? It’s not because of these [teeth] grills, it’s because I did one operation (surgery). Ask my guys na. I almost died but God kept me here right now. And the fact that God saved me, everything that was happening after that was not surprising,” he said.
“I am a firm believer of God in the sense that I can feel when something is about to happen. I am lucky enough to know that in this place, something is about to happen.
“Ask my guys, I was eating baby food for two weeks. Cold baby foods. I lost weight. Apart from that, there were like sixteen stitches in my mouth, bro. The day Wizkid posted my stuff was the day they were discharging me from the hospital.”
The 29-year-old also spoke about his encounter with Wizkid, the Afrobeats star, on the day he was discharged from the hospital.
“I woke up in the morning, I saw a message at 7 am, I saw Machala…And I checked my Instagram, everybody was sending me that Wizkid posted ‘Picanto’. I’m like, that was like the first thing that God used to tell me that, yo, I’m with you, everything that is going to be happening from here onwards, it’s going to be more than what eyes have seen, ears don hear,” he added.
“When I see stuff like that I just get excited at the moment and after that I am not really on it because I knew that was going to happen.”
