Victory Gbakara, Nigerian Idol season eight winner, says he felt Precious Mac, his fellow contestant, was going to win the show.
On Sunday night, Gbakara was crowned the winner of the talent hunt reality television show.
He defeated Mac in the final to claim the N100 million grand prize, which includes N35 million in cash.
In a recent interview with TheCable Lifestyle, Gbakara said if he were given the choice to select someone for a battle, he would not choose Mac.
He described Mac as an “amazing singer”.
He also said if they were paired together, she would be chosen due to her vocal abilities.
He added that if there were doubts about the competition’s outcome, he firmly believed that Mac would undoubtedly emerge as the winner.
“If I were asked to choose someone for a battle, the person I would not like to select is Precious Mac,” he said.
“Precious Mac is an amazing singer. At one point, I felt that if we were paired together, she would be chosen because of her voice, particularly her rendition of ‘Diamonds’ by Rihanna.
“So, if there was ever any doubt about who would have won, it would definitely be Precious Mac.”
