Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has claimed William, his brother the Prince of Wales, physically attacked him in 2019.
The UK Guardian reports on Thursday that Harry spoke of the encounter in his forthcoming memoir titled ‘Spare’.
In the book, Harry was said to have narrated how his brother grabbed him by the neck and wrestled him to the ground.
He was reported as saying that the incident resulted in visible injury to his back.
“He set down [a glass of] water, called me another name, then came at me,” excerpts from the book reportedly read.
“It all happened so fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace. And he knocked me to the floor.
“I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me.
“I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Harry’s book is set to be published simultaneously across the globe next week.
The Duke of Sussex said his relationship with his brother would later fall apart after he got married to Meghan Markle.
Describing the confrontation at his London home over three years ago, Harry said William called Meghan “rude” and “abrasive”.
Harry further expressed displeasure about a “parrot[ing of] the press narrative” about his American wife.
He had earlier blamed the timing of a UK tabloid coverage for his wife’s miscarriage in 2020.
