The seventh edition of the GTCO Fashion Weekend has kicked off at Plot 1 Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Lagos.
The GTCO Fashion Weekend is an annual consumer-focused fair designed to promote indigenous fashion, local designers, creatives, and entrepreneurs.
This year’s edition will be held between November 9 and 10. The 2-day event will feature masterclasses, stage designer presentations, curated pop-up fashion retail stores, a craft/fabric market, and runway shows showcasing African and international designers.
At a recent media briefing in Lagos, Charles Eremi, GTCO’s corporate communications representative, stressed the event’s importance in promoting African fashion and enterprise.
“We believe that fashion is a vital sector that can drive economic growth and create opportunities for entrepreneurs,” he said.
“Our goal is to provide a platform for African designers to showcase their talents and connect with global experts.”

On his part, Segun Agbaje, the group CEO of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, said: “GTCO Fashion Weekend is a deliberate effort to uplift, empower, and celebrate African talents. Innovation and inclusivity drive an industry reflecting the diversity and richness of African talent.”
