Gifty Powers, ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, has slammed Nigerian artistes for lacking originality and for not infusing local dialects into their songs.

The actress said it is rare to see a Ghanaian artiste “speak other people’s dialects” and criticised Nigerian artistes who always rely on “Ghana tune” to make hit records.

Powers made this known in a Snapchat post on Tuesday.

She praised Adekunle Gold, Olamide, Flavour and Phyno for sticking to the culture.

“It is a shame that some musicians in Nigeria are not proud of our dialects, (Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, and Pidgin).

“Every song we hear now must have a Ghana tune…why?

“It is not supposed to be so na, haba.

“I must confess that I am very proud of Flavour, Olamide and Phyno. Twale to these musicians.

“I know some people will blast at me for writing this, but mhen, I don’t freaking care. Truth must be told.

“You will never see a Ghanaian learning to speak other people dialects, PS: who tell you say your music no go sell without Ghana tune in it?

“Be proud of where you from, one love Nigeria,” she wrote.
