Ego Okoye, the TikTok lady who was jailed for defaming Eniola Badmus, has narrated her ordeal in police detention.

Last month, the TikToker alleged that Badmus, the Nollywood actress, ran a prostitution syndicate with a special preference for ladies who had gone under the knife.

During police interrogation, Okoye apologised to the actress, saying a friend offered her N200,000 to defame her.

Badmus, however, rejected the apology and took the matter to court.

A federal high court in Lagos sentenced Okoye to three years imprisonment with the option of a fine of N150,000.

Recounting the experience in a recent TikTok live, Okoye said she was “gang beaten while locked up in detention”.

The TikToker said she was “beaten to the point I lost count of how many people laid hands on me”.

Okoye added that several injuries were inflicted on her body.

She also accused the police of leaving out the part where she was “beaten during the interviews”.

“There is something I feel like they did not tell you people. The part where, when they granted an interview, they did not tell you I was gang beaten? We do not hear about such interviews. I have not said anything yet,” she said.

“They did not tell you that I was beaten to the point that I lost count of how many people laid hands on me. I felt like it was more than six people. The gang beating was too terrible. It was too brutal that my beauty left me and ran away.

“Till now, more than one week that I am out, I am still trying to recover my beauty. I have been on supplements.

“So many marks on my body. I have been trying to cover myself. I have never been beaten as such in my life because such beating is not for human beings.

“You people do not understand what I went through.”

Last week, Okoye accused the Lagos police of seizing her mobile phone “despite a court’s order”.
