Funke Akindele, Nollywood actress better known as ‘Jenifa’, has grieved the death of her father, a school principal.
The actress took to her social media page on Monday to break the tragic news, accompanied with a picture she took with her late dad.
“Dad!!! May your soul Rest In Peace!! I tried Dad! I did!! We love you but God knows best!!! #iwishicanturnbackthehandsoftime,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
The actress is the second of her father’s three children, two girls and one boy.
Her mother is a medical doctor. Born on August 24, 1977, the actress has become a sensation in the country’s movie industry.
She has also won numerous awards over the course of her acting career.
Funke played the lead role in the TV show ‘Jenifa’s Diary‘, alongside Fisayo Ajisola, Falz, Juliana Olayode, and Aderounmu Adejumoke, for which she was named the ‘best actress’ at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
The actress, who welcomed a set of twins with her husband last year, made her directorial debut in ‘Your Excellency’, a recently premiered movie by Mo Abudu, prominent film producer.
In 2016, she also married JJC Skillz in London, having parted ways with Kehinde Oloyede, her ex-husband, citing irreconcilable differences.
