The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the final schedules for the subjects to be taken in its 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Demainus Ojijeogu, head of public affairs, WAEC Nigeria, in a statement on Tuesday, said the examination would begin effective from August 17 and run through to September 12, 2020.
The timetable shows that candidates are expected to write Mathematics on August 17 — 9:30 am for essay and 3:00 pm for objective —while English Language paper has been scheduled for August 26.
In the timetable, English Language (essay) would commence at 9:30 am on the said day and end at 11:30 am while the objective would hold between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.
Other schedules also indicated on the released international timetable include Biology practicals, which will hold on August 31, at 09:30 am, as essay-objective sitting is set for August 25 at 09:30 am.

In the statement by Ojijeogu, the council added that “where the duration indicated on the question paper differs from that on the timetable, the one on the question paper should be followed.”
“Extra Time for Candidates with Special Needs: Candidates with Special Needs should be allowed one and half times the time allotted to other candidates.”
This year’s WASSCE, earlier scheduled for April, was postponed indefinitely because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
